In March of this year, the museum did a big feedback study with parents regarding the activity kits. A consensus was made that people wanted more tactile activities, more opportunities to learn about flight, and more things to take home. This led to a complete redesign of the program.
Seven new activities were arranged on many different topics. These topics are, but are not limited to: morse code, aircraft parts, control surfaces, and dressing for flight. Another big change to the program was the ability to book backpacks for visiting groups who are not looking for a facilitated program.
The backpacks are recommended for children ages 7-12 and can be rented for $3.
