Discovery Backpack Program
There’s even more to explore with the Alberta Aviation Museum’s Discovery Backpacks! Backpacks are available for Families or Groups to add a bag full of interactive activities to your visit. Discovery Backpack Activities are intended children ages 7-12.
Our Discovery Backpacks includes 7 interactive activities including scavenger hunts and crafts to explore aircraft control surfaces, aircraft design, morse code and more!
FAMILY BACKPACKS:
You can borrow a Discovery Backpack from the front desk when you purchase your admission or add it to your online ticket purchase. Backpacks are $3 each and are not available during special events.
GROUP BACKPACKS:
Perfect for Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, childcare centers, and other visiting children’s groups, you can add a group set of Discovery Backpacks to any self-guided or guided group visit. Each backpack includes materials for up to 5 children and are borrowed in groups of 5 backpacks for $25 (maximum 10 backpacks per group). Our group Backpacks include additional activities for children to work on together including becoming their own tour guide!
All groups whether guided or self-guided must book their Backpacks in advance using our guided tour request form.
SENSORY KITS:
We also have sensory kits including sunglasses, ear defenders, fidgets, and more that can be added to any Backpack.
Ask at the front-desk for more information and to acquire your kit. Available on a first-come, first serve basis.
