Designed to be affordable and easy to build yourself, the Air Camper is a lightweight, parasol-wing aircraft constructed out of spruce and plywood. Bernard Pietenpol flew the model for the first time in 1928 and published detailed plans in 1932. Darren Scarlett built the Air Camper that the Alberta Aviation Museum has. He first flew it in 2023 but found the flight more frightening than he expected and generously donated it to the museum shortly afterwards.
