Hangar Update March 1st, 2025
With Spring on its way, the hangar is buzzing with activity. We are pleased to share some important updates on our ongoing projects shaping the future of the museum.
Our feasibility study, conducted by MCR Strategic, is currently underway. The insights from this study are invaluable in guiding the museum towards a capital campaign and long-term sustainability.

The Story of Our (New) Fokker Universal
When the “new” Fokker Universal arrived late last year from Ottawa, we had very little information about it, except its registration (NC7029) and final owner (ST Howe). Internet searches revealed no pictures of NC7029/N7029, and “ST Howe” was too common of a name to yield many results.
Keeping our planes in the (simulated) air
When the Alberta Aviation Museum’s flight simulators began facing wear and tear, volunteer Mike Reimer stepped in with a cost-effective repair. Using a custom-made aluminum anti-racking bracket, he restored the simulators to provide a realistic flight experience for school programs, events, and kids’ camps.
