Hello members,
With spring just around the corner, we are looking forward to the warmer days ahead and another exciting season at the museum. Over the past few months, the museum has been bustling with activity—from PD Day Camps and Theory of Flight classes to guided tours and visitors enjoying our remarkable exhibits. Behind the scenes, staff have also been hard at work advancing several important projects.
One particularly exciting initiative underway is the Hangar 14 LEGO build. This unique project has captured the interest of visitors of all ages. With more than 30,000 pieces to assemble, it is an impressive undertaking as we work toward a planned completion in May. If you’re curious to see how it’s coming along, be sure to stop by the museum and check out the progress.
You may also begin to notice some changes in our Restoration area. This space has always been a major highlight for visitors, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the careful restoration of aircraft and artifacts. In the near future, guests will be able to get even closer to the action with the addition of a new walkway extending into the center of the restoration area—while, of course, maintaining a safe environment for both visitors and volunteers.
We also continue to work with City Administration as discussions progress regarding the sale agreement. Given the significance of this decision, the museum is committed to ensuring that all appropriate due diligence is carefully completed.
As always, we are deeply grateful for the ongoing support and contributions from our members, volunteers, donors, and community partners. Your support helps make everything we do possible, and we look forward to sharing another wonderful season with you at the museum.
Sincerely,
Jean Lauzon – Executive Director
