YEG Honeycomb Family Drop-In Programs!

A new form of flight has returned to Blatchford Field and is a creating “buzz” for the museum.  The Alberta Aviation Museum is excited to serve as a partner site to host two resident bee colonies at our facility. Part of the YEG Honeycomb Project, this sustainability initiative aims to provide 12 pollinator penthouses across 6 historic locations throughout Edmonton.

Bee Talks

Throughout the summer, our resident beekeeper, Enessa Habib will be hosting community talks about the importance of bees and how they tie into the history of the area.  Get a glimpse of their unique life-cycles and how these new flight ambassadors are contributing to the new sustainable chapter of Blatchford field.

Let’s Get Buzzy! Activity Kits ( For Ages 3+ Available by Donation)

Enhance your family museum visit by picking up our YEG Honeycomb inspired activity book and craft kits!  Available by donation, the kit contains a museum scavenger hunt, puzzles, bee jokes, and more!

“Bee” sure to pick up your activity kits at the front.  Donations for these kits will help support our future family programs.
