Hangar 14 Update November/December 2025

Honouring Our Past, Inspiring Our Future

Dear Members,

As the year draws to a close, the museum would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your continued support and enthusiasm. The past two months have been vibrant ones for the museum, filled with new faces, successful programs, and meaningful community connections.

During the recent teacher strike, our Strike Camps provided a safe and inspiring environment for students to learn, explore, and create. The camps quickly reached capacity, and we were delighted by the enthusiasm of participating families. My sincere thanks go out to the education team and volunteers whose hard work made these camps possible.

The hangar will come alive this fall with the Blatchford Boogie Woogie Dance — a lively evening of music, community, and history in motion. The event is ramping up to be a fun-filled night. Come and join us in celebrating the spirit of the Blatchford era in true vintage style.

The Museum’s Board of Directors has been actively developing a specific Fundraising/Development Plan to enhance our set of sustainability goals to guide our operations and planning. These initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible resource management. We look forward to sharing updates as this work progresses.

The recent civic election brought change and renewed energy to our city. We congratulate Mayor Knack and all newly elected council members. We look forward to continued collaboration in building a vibrant and sustainable community.

Thank you for being an essential part of our museum community. Your continued engagement enables us to preserve, interpret, and celebrate the stories that shape our heritage. We look forward to welcoming you to the museum this winter and into the year ahead.

On behalf of the museum staff and Board please take a moment and enjoy the holidays!

Wishing you and yours all the very best this season!

Warm regards,

Jean Lauzon
