Hangar Update March 1st, 2025

Alberta Aviation Museum Spring Update

With Spring on its way, the hangar is buzzing with activity.  We are pleased to share some important updates on our ongoing projects shaping the future of the museum.

Our feasibility study, conducted by MCR Strategic, is currently underway. The insights from this study are invaluable in guiding the museum towards a capital campaign and long-term sustainability. Additionally, HGI will soon begin assessing the hangar’s truss system, a critical step in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our historic facility.

Another significant milestone is the draft sale agreement we’ve received from the City of Edmonton for Hangar 14 and its property. We are carefully reviewing the details and will keep you updated on its progress.

Inside the museum, we’ve been busier than ever! With a growing number of educational tours, birthday party bookings, Theory of Flight classes, and special events, the energy in the hangar is contagious.

One of our biggest upcoming events is the Women in Trades event on March 8, 2025. This exciting expansion of our Women of Aviation Week will feature hands-on activities, career insights, and inspiring stories from women in aviation and the trades. It’s a great opportunity for all ages to explore, learn, and connect with industry professionals. Following that, we’re turning back the clock to 1975 for a special A Night with Wardair event on April 25, 2025.

As a final note, our Annual General Meeting is set for April 13, 2025, at 2 PM, and everyone is welcome to attend. This is a great chance to learn more about our activities, projects, and the exciting future ahead.

Thank you for your continued support—we’ll keep you posted as these projects progress!

Warmest Wishes,

Jean Lauzon
