Greetings from the Executive Director
Our summer has only just begun and has been truly uplifting! Watching campers explore the science, history, and mechanics of flight right here in Hangar 14 has been an absolute joy. Museum tours continue to attract enthusiastic guests, eager to learn and engage with Edmonton’s aviation heritage. Our birthday party program has also been a tremendous hit—parents love celebrating special moments in Hangar 14 amid iconic aircraft.
We’re excited to invite you back for our Props & Hops event on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 7 pm to 11 pm. This adults‑only evening blends nostalgia and fun, featuring craft beers, food trucks, dancing under historic aircraft, and playful “field trip” activities for those 18+ with valid ID, tickets can be purchased on our website.
Behind the scenes, the team is working closely with the City of Edmonton and consulting partners on long-term conservation plans for Hangar 14. The goal is to preserve this architectural gem as a vibrant centre for learning and community events for decades to come. MCR Strategic and HGI Inc have been assisting the museum in creating the needed resources for the museum to preserve and rehabilitate the hangar going forward. The final details of the sale agreement are being worked out currently with the hope of having it finalized by end of summer.
As Executive Director, I’m deeply grateful for your ongoing generosity—whether through membership, donations, volunteering, or visiting. Your support enables us to offer dynamic programming and safeguard our aviation legacy.
Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to seeing you at our summer events—and helping the Alberta Aviation Museum continue to inspire future generations.
Blue skies,
Jean Lauzon – Executive Director
