Homeschool Days are from 1pm-3pm. If the afternoon session becomes fully booked, we will open registration for a morning session from 10am-12pm.

Ages: 6–17 

Students will be divided into groups based on grade level to ensure program material is age appropriate. 

Cost: $16.25 per student 
  • Includes one accompanying adult 
  • Add up to 3 additional children for $13 each under the same ticket 
  • Additional adults must pay regular museum admission 
Program Includes 
  • A themed, guided museum tour 
  • Time in the museum’s flight simulators 
  • Access to self-guided craft activities and/or scavenger hunts
    • These will be available in the education area following your scheduled tour and simulator session 

Tour Themes

The Science of Flight 

Discover the principles behind how airplanes fly by exploring the four forces of flight—lift, weight, thrust, and drag. Students will examine historic aircraft and exhibits to learn how engineers and pilots apply these forces to make flight possible. 

Linked to the Alberta Grade 5 Science curriculum. Content will be adjusted based on group age. 

Connecting Communities 

Explore how aviation brought people together across Alberta and Canada! Learn how planes were used to map the land with aerial photography and surveys. Hear real stories of daring aviators, get up close to historic aircraft, and discover how aviation helped shape communities. 

FAQ 

Please check in with program staff at the front desk using the name under which tickets were purchased. After check-in, wait at the front of the museum so staff can go over rules and start programming on time. 

Children under 5 are welcome and admitted free. However: 

  • Activities are designed for ages 6–17 
  • Children under 5 cannot use the flight simulators 
  • They may explore the museum with an adult during programming 
  • Some self-guided activities will be available for younger children 

Yes! You’re welcome to continue exploring the museum after the guided portion ends. The education area will remain open with self-guided activities. 

Please note: Flight simulators are only available during your scheduled time. 

Yes. An adult must remain at the museum throughout the program. They may either join the program or explore the museum independently. 

  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the museum gallery 
  • The education area will be open to program participants throughout the day
    • You are welcome to bring a packed lunch to enjoy in that space 
  • Please note: The museum does not have food or drink services on-site 
Cancellation Policy 

Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another Homeschool Day date.
