Message from the Executive Director
As the summer winds down and we step into the crisp days of fall, I’m proud to share that the museum has enjoyed a vibrant and successful season. We’ve welcomed a steady stream of visitors—proof that even amid political and economic uncertainty, our mission continues to resonate with the community.
This summer, we were thrilled to host five aviation-themed camps that ignited curiosity and joy in more than 75 children. These programs continue to be a cornerstone of our educational outreach and a highlight of the season.
We also saw a surge in guided tours, with over 750 young explorers visiting us. The energy and excitement they brought made the museum buzz with life all summer long.
A major highlight was the launch of our first-ever Props ’n’ Hops event. With over 195 attendees, it was a tremendous success—so much so that we’ve already received enthusiastic requests for more events like it in the future!
Behind the scenes, we are still finalizing details with the City of Edmonton sale agreement—ensuring the final document is inclusive of everything the museum needs to continue on the path forward to sustainability. This is a crucial step in securing the long-term future of the museum and ensuring we remain a vibrant part of the community for years to come.
As we look ahead, preparations are in full swing for our flagship event—Open Cockpit Day, now celebrating its 10th Anniversary! This milestone event promises to be our biggest and best yet, and we can’t wait to welcome you.
Of course, fall also brings festive traditions. We’re gearing up for Thanksgiving and a bit of spooky fun for Halloween—be sure to keep an eye out for what we have in store!
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. Your engagement fuels everything we do, and we look forward to seeing you at the museum soon!
Warm regards,
Jean Lauzon,
Executive Director
