Description
Open Cockpit Day 2019
September 14, 10am to 4pm
Avoid the lines. Get your tickets online here.
Our fifth annual Open Cockpit Day will be your chance to get into the ‘driver’s seat’ of many of our vintage aircraft, from bushplanes to jets. It’s the one day a year visitors are allowed this unique opportunity to find out what it was like to fly the iconic aircraft that made Edmonton aviation history.
This year’s event will focus on simulators. Pilot a First World War biplane in the Ace Flight Academy Experience exhibit on loan from the Canada Air and Space Museum. Check out our new Redbird flight simulators, or try your hand at piloting a lumbering four-engine airliner in our DC-6 simulator.
We will also be unveiling a brand new exhibit featuring the University of Alberta’s AlbertaSat project, which has already designed, build and launched one satellite into space and is working on another. Students from the project will also be on hand to talk about their work.
