The Story of Our (New) Fokker Universal Part Two: Twisted Metal and Digital Truths

When the Fokker Universal arrived at the Alberta Aviation Museum in late 2024, its future was uncertain. Severely damaged in a 1944 landing accident, the aircraft appeared beyond saving—until a surprise 3D scan offered new clarity. Thanks to FARO Technologies, we now have a digital roadmap of the Fokker’s structure, revealing that the damage is far more limited than previously believed. This unexpected insight has given our restoration team cautious optimism—and a clearer path forward.
